Samantha
Critchley, partner in the Medical Negligence department, ran
the 2011 Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon to help raise vital
funds for Scope on 9 October 2011.
Samantha raised over £900 by completing the
13.1 mile run. Samantha finished the race in 2 hours 10 minutes and
52 seconds.
Scope is a disability organisation
in England and Wales whose focus is on people with cerebral palsy.
Scope provides a number
of support, information and campaign services. In addition they
create opportunities for education, employment and independent
living.
After the race Sam said "a big thank you
to all the Scope supporters on the way
round. It really spurred me on and made all the difference and
reminded me exactly why I was running".
Francesca at Scope said "Thank you so much
for raising over £900, this is such a fantastic amount and will
make such a difference to the lives of disabled people and their
families. We are so glad the support spurred you on and encouraged
you on your way round the course, as your support means so much to
us we are glad to be able something back to you. It would fantastic
to have you on the team next year".
