Our Asbestos Claims Group not only specialise in obtaining compensation for sufferers of asbestos disease, but have successfully raised over £40,000 for St Bart’s mesothelioma research to find a cure for mesothelioma. In September 2003, we organised an event at St Bartholomew’s Hospital where musicians and performers entertained the guests with a medley of household hits by performers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

Lord Hutton and many other eminent lawyers and doctors attended the event, which raised in excess of £20,000.

On 25 November 2006, we organised another event and the guests were entered by Siren, one of Europe’s most versatile string quartets.  This event raised over £22,000.

Jill Greenfield was part of a successful campaign for compensation for British victims of terrorism abroad. Previously, only victims who had suffered injuries in the United Kingdom could claim compensation but after a four year campaign the Government has introduced a scheme to compensate British citizens who are injured in terrorist attacks while they are abroad. The firm was nominated for a pro bono award in May 2010 for its work on this campaign.

• Mark Bowman takes part in charity events every year. A keen cyclist, Mark rode 540k from Geneva to Paris to raise funds for Headway, the brain injury association raising more than £2,000 for the charity, which helps survivors of brain injuries.
• Samantha Critchley has ran a number of races to raise funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) which aims to improve the quality of life for children and youth with a brain injury.
• Jonathan Zimmern volunteers on the AvMA helpline which is a free service which provides information for those who feel that they have suffered as a result of medical negligence.
• Our personal injury team has been raising money for mesothelioma research for many years. So far, we have raised more than £40,000 for mesothelioma research.
