T recovers £2.6 million
T was under 4 when he visited a farm on a school trip. During
the trip he was exposed to E Coli 0157 which led to renal failure
and ultimately caused very severe brain injury. T's only method of
communication is by blinking and T is tube fed. T lives at home
with 24 hour care being provided for by his family and other
nursing professionals.
The claim was pursued and initially hard fought in terms of
liability. Shortly before trial, the defendants admitted 95%
liability. Following that, the case settled for £2.6 million.

P v G
Jill Greenfield acted for P who was
knocked off his bike by a motorcyclist. He suffered severe brain
damage. Whilst liability was admitted, quantum was a different
matter. The defendants sought to dispute £2million of the full
claim value of £3.5million. They suggested that the local authority
were duty bound to pay for his care, not the defendant. This
argument was totally rejected and following negotiations, the
defendants in fact settled the claim for £3.35million. This will
pay for his care for the rest of his life and provides income for
his family.
