We pursued a cerebral palsy
negligence claim for Rose who has cerebral palsy because she
was starved of oxygen at birth. We secured £1.5 million
compensation for Rose which will ensure that all her needs are
taken care of throughout her life.
Rose was born on 2 October 1994. During the labour there
was an abnormal fetal heart reading. This should have led to an
expedited delivery.
As a result of the delay in her delivery and the failure to
expedite, Rose was deprived of oxygen.
She suffers from severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral
palsy, cortical blindness and marked developmental delay because of
this and requires care and special education.
We were instructed to act on Rose's behalf in a cerebral palsy compensation claim.
We agreed a settlement of £1.5m plus costs, with the NHS
Trust also giving an indemnity of up to £500,000 in relation to
future education. This means that we can seek further compensation
of up to half a million pounds in future if the compensation for
education was not enough.
