The Brain Injury Social Work Group
(BISWG) held their London & South-East regional meeting at our
offices on 31 October 2007.
The meeting was chaired by Patti Simonson from BISWG, and
Jill Greenfield from Field Fisher
Waterhouse's brain injury group, and
included talks on the following:
- The National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and
NHS-funded Nursing Care (Andrew Palethorpe, Social Care Policy
& Innovation, Department of Health)
- Personal Injury Trusts and the Benefits System (Andrew
Palethorpe)
- Periodical Payments and the Courts Act 2003 (Andrew
Palethorpe)
- The Mental Capacity Act 2005 ‘what does it mean for Deputies’
(Sheralee Ellis, Financial Adviser Wealth Management, Personal
Injury Team, AWD Chase de Vere Wealth Management Ltd).
After the event, the delegates had an opportunity to relax over
a few drinks at the reception hosted by Field Fisher
Waterhouse.
