Kent & Medway Cancer Networks held the second annual
conference on Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma on 13 May 2008 at the
historic grounds of David Salomons House in Royal Tunbridge
Wells.
The conference was attended by over 200
medical professionals including lung cancer nurses and respiratory
specialist registrars. It highlighted the medical issues
concerning the early diagnosis and treatment for patients diagnosed
with mesothelioma and lung cancer. The panel of experts included Dr
Alaisdair Stewart from Medway Maritime Hospital who spoke about the
epidemiology of lung cancer. Peter Williams, a lawyer at Field
Fisher Waterhouse, which help to sponsor the conference spoke on
“How the law treats asbestos smoking and lung cancer “
