Cervical cancer - the poor relation to other women’s cancers

Following her mother’s death from cervical cancer in February this year, Sarah Phillips has recorded her version of Paolo Nutini’s “Autumn”. She is hoping to propel the single up the British charts this week, raising money for cervical cancer research in the process.

Sarah’s version of the song, which was played at her mother, Debbie Phillips', funeral  on 11 February, was released on YouTube earlier this month and to date has received almost 300,000 views.

The single is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon. The cost is 79p and all proceeds go to the Debbie Phillips Cervical Cancer fund. Sarah’s father, Mark, says that the family are determined some good should come from her death and they hope to raise a substantial amount for cervical cancer research. “Cervical cancer is the poor relation to lots of other women’s cancers”, Mark said. “The song is wonderful and I’m very proud of the performance and Sarah’s efforts to use it to raise money”.

We are currently acting for Debbie’s family in respect of a medical negligence claim. We hope you will show your support for the Debbie Phillips' Cervical Cancer fund and cervical cancer research.
